On December 6, 2023, held its 36th Annual Christmas tree giveaway. Over 100 families received live trees for the holidays. Illinois State Senator for the 17th district, Elgie R. Sims Jr. joined SCCS Executive Director Dr. Angelia Roberts-Watkins, and SCCS Staff distribute the trees to the community.
